Viking Boat Tours

A specially designed tour boat built according to the strongest safety regulations for the tourist industry. It has gained a good reputation for excellent service in the Westman Islands. The boat is very comfortable and has a passenger capacity of 50 people. You can sit either below or on deck.

The boat is fully equipped with quality navigational and communication devices along with fully functional lifesaving equipment.  All crew members are qualified and licensed for operation with a good history of safety at sea.

The Circle Tour:
Departure: 10:30 am and 15:30 pm 

The boat circles the island of Heimaey stopping at places of interest where passengers can see the various caves, the varied bird life and observe whales. A guide will be on board to explain the sights in Icelandic and English. The trip ends by sailing into Klettshellur, (Cliff Cave), and a musical instrument is played on board. The acoustics in the cave provide a sensational experience. From there we reenter the harbor. The trip takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. 

Adult : 3.400 kr children 9 - 14 years: 2.400 kr (free for children under age of nine)

Surtsey Tour:

On our way to Surtsey, a volcanic island, that was born in 1963, you have the best chance during summer to see whales. We circle Surtsey slowly and on our way back we pass other westman islands with their rich birdlife like gannets and puffins and their colourful caves.

Whale Watching:

Price depends on the tour. The tour depends on weather and number of whale watchers. The sea around Vestmannaeyjar is inhabited by the largest population of Killer Whales and Dolphins of Iceland. 

Deep Sea Fishing:

Rich fishing grounds are located only a short distance from the islands. This is an excellent opportunity to participate in an unforgettable fishing trip with a jovial captain. Poles and other fishing equipment are included. Price is 7.000 ISK p/p

Cave Tour:

Sea caves that are within the radius of Heimaey and in several of the smaller outer islands and skerries are visited by boat. You'll also see the breeding places of gannets and puffins.

Dinner at sea:

In cooperation with Einar Björn's Catering service, we offer parties on board. The boat anchors in Klettshellur (Cliff Cave) and we serve our guests a wonderful selection of seafood with ocean sounds as background music.
